GTS April Challenge Tabata-A-Day Day 6 1-Arm DB Snatch





Day 6 of the GTS Tabata-A-Day Challenge 

Dumbbell required for this exercise. You might have seen it in the comments of previous posts, this is the Alternating 1-Arm Dumbbell (DB) Snatch. This is a great total body exercise that emphasizes power through the legs. Perform it in a tabata fashion and you've got yourself a pretty intense aerobic workout as well.

A few tips on performing the Alternating 1-Arm DB Snatch:
- USE YOUR LEGS (don't try to muscle up the weight with your upper body)
- You should only use your shoulders to help stabilize the weight over your head.
- Think about jumping the weight up, in the video you can actually see my feet leave the ground a little bit. Not necessary, but it will def help when the weight gets heavier.

In Summary:
- Choose 1 exercise (or 2 exercises to alternate between)
- Perform the exercise for 20 seconds (counting the reps)
- Rest for EXACTLY 10 seconds
- Repeat 7 more times (total of 8 sets) for 4 minutes.
- DONE! or you can choose another tabata to perform.

  1. Today's Tabata was Burpees! I made my entire bootcamp class do it, they were NOT so happy with me.

  3. I did two today, trying to catch up. First thick rope slams, alternating and together in ABABABAB progression.

    Second was sandbag clean and press 7,8,7,7,7,7,7,7

    Both were brutal

  5. In all of these pictures you look like you're wearing woman's pantyhose over your face (as opposed to men's pantyhose which would look TOTALLY different)
