GTS April Challenge Tabata-A-Day Day 28




Day 28 of the GTS Tabata-A-Day Challenge 

I'm personally all wrapped up with the challenge for the month... have another deadlift competition coming up this weekend that I have to rest up for.  Really excited because my F-Word is going to be competing with me for her first time.  Anyway, you still have a few days to finish the challenge strong!

Today's exercise is similar to yesterday's but we are adding a double vertical press.

Clean Press & Press

Notes:
  • Clean or Curl the weight up.
  • Perform a quick press in front of the head.
  • Perform a quick press behind the head. (Don't let bar come crashing down on your neck!)
  • As always keep your core and legs tight.
  • Males should start with 45 lb bar and work your way up in weight.
  • Females should start with a 20lb bar and work your way up in weight.
  • Remember the behind the neck press is more challenging then the front press, so adjust your weights accordingly.

In Summary:
- Choose 1 exercise (or 2 exercises to alternate between)
- Perform the exercise for 20 seconds (counting the reps)
- Rest for EXACTLY 10 seconds (20 seconds for beginners)
- Repeat 7 more times (total of 8 sets) for 4 minutes, or MORE!
- DONE! or you can choose another tabata to perform.

  1. Late posting here... my tabatas for Sunday and Monday...

    Two in a row: plyo skaters and plank jacks, both while wearing shackles. Ugh. Alternated exercises throughout the eight minutes. Plank jacks the hardest. My calves were feeling it immediately afterward.

    This means I have a total of FIVE tabatas to go before I hit my goal of 30 for the month.

    I can do it.
