GTS April Challenge Tabata-A-Day Day 11

Day 11 of the GTS Tabata-A-Day Challenge 

Start of a new week... hopefully you've been keeping up with the challenge, if still not too hard to catch up.  Feel free to re-do any exercise or combo of exercises you've already done, or give the DB Swing Curl a whirl... (you like what I did right there?)

Question: But isn't swinging the weight up cheating?

Well i guess it depends on what contest you're in.  If you're of the old school body building mind set and your goal is to isolate a particular muscle, then sure i guess you'd be cheating.

My goal is for you to get the most bang for your buck out of each and every exercise you do. By using a swinging motion now you're...

  • Involving the hips 
  • Moving a much heavier weight (working much harder)
  • Getting your core involved
  • Performing much more WORK then you'd be doing if you did a strict curl.

Day 11 Tabata Exercise Option:

Heavy Swing Curls

In Summary:
- Choose 1 exercise (or 2 exercises to alternate between)
- Perform the exercise for 20 seconds (counting the reps)
- Rest for EXACTLY 10 seconds (20 seconds for beginners)
- Repeat 7 more times (total of 8 sets) for 4 minutes.
- DONE! or you can choose another tabata to perform.

  1. Alternating dumbbell snatches with 25#, 7-9 reps each round.

  2. Band Anti-Rotation/Shuffle
    5-ish/held strong/5-ish/held strong/5-ish/felt the burn/5-ish/cramped up a little but was still ok
